FIBREPATCH is an air setting high alumina insulation refractory mastic
supplied in a plastic, ready to use form. Based on ceramic
fibres, its high workability enables it to be trowelled, hand moulded,
injected or gunned. It will readily adhere to most surfaces. |
 |
 |
|
TYPICAL APPLICATION
Patching mastic for ceramic fibre modules, where excessive shrinkage has occurred during firing.
CLASSIFICATION
FIBREPATCH will air dry to a
lightweight strong hard mass. Forced drying must be below
100ēC taking care to allow for the escape of moisture. |
FIBREPATCH is thermally
stable up to 1000°C
having low shrinkage and high resistance to thermal shock. It is
not advisable to use FIBREPATCH beyond a maximum service
temperature of 1260°C
(=MST), as shrinkage increases rapidly. The melting temperature of
the ceramic fibre is 1790°C.
