FIBREPATCH is an air setting high alumina insulation refractory mastic supplied in a plastic, ready to use form.  Based on ceramic fibres, its high workability enables it to be trowelled, hand moulded, injected or gunned.  It will readily adhere to most surfaces.

TYPICAL APPLICATION

Patching mastic for ceramic fibre modules, where excessive shrinkage has occurred during firing.

CLASSIFICATION

FIBREPATCH will air dry to a lightweight strong hard mass.  Forced drying must be below 100ēC taking care to allow for the escape of moisture.

FIBREPATCH is thermally stable up to 1000°C having low shrinkage and high resistance to thermal shock. It is not advisable to use FIBREPATCH beyond a maximum service temperature of 1260°C (=MST), as shrinkage increases rapidly. The melting temperature of the ceramic fibre is 1790°C.
