International
was founded in the 1950’s and is one of the leading manufacturers of refractory and insulation materials in Europe today. Vermiculite is the geological name given to a group of hydrated laminar materials which are aluminium-iron-magnesium silicates that resemble mica in appearance. Vermiculite consists of thin, flat flakes containing microscopic particles of water. On being subjected to high temperatures, the flakes exfoliate (expand) to many times their original volume, giving Vermiculite its unique properties of high insulation values and light weight. |
